Invasive (non-native)non-native

Introduced and causing ecological or economic harm.

Nitrogen-fixing tree that transforms nutrient-poor Hawaiian soils, facilitating invasion by other non-natives and displacing native species adapted to oligotrophic conditions.

Myrica faya (firetree, faya or haya; syn. Morella faya (Ait.) Wilbur) is a species of Myrica, native to Macaronesia (the Azores, Madeira, and the Canary Islands), and possibly also southern Portugal.
